How to create a new report type

Reports are forms that user can fill in NorfelloCMMS. Many other CMMS systems has lots of ready to use reports, how ever the hard coded reports hardly suit for all kinds businesses. In NorfelloCMMS report type are created for each installation.

Software required:

• Openoffice.org 2.0.0 or later
• Access to NorfelloCMMS
• A web browser for instance Mozilla Firefox

Use Openoffice.org to create a template

To get started we are going to create a simple fault report template:

1. Open a new Openoffice.org writer document
2. Write the text parts to document
3. Add an image to template (the map)

Now we have the report looking ok. In order to make it fillable we need to add fields. This is done by selecting Insert --> Fields --> Other

NorfelloCMMS is going to read user fields from the template later. So the fillable fields are created as "user fileds". If your content is text select the format "Text" too.

In order to make fillable image field image must be inserted first (insert --> picture -- from file...). To make NorfelloCMMS to read the image as fillable image filed the name of image must be set to "IMAGES_FILED:anytextyoulike"

Now that we are ready with the file is time to go to new step. The odt file could also be downloaded here

Create a new report template to NorfelloCMMS

Open the browser and log in to NorfelloCMMS, if it is just installed you should be able to login with "admin", "admin".

1. Select Configuration on the top right.
2. Select Report types on the top.
3. Under Report types select report categories. In case there are no report categories create one by clicking "create"
4. Under Report types select report types and click create.
5. Give the "Type name" and click next
6. Teplate file is now asked click browse.. and select the file.

8. You can now edit the names of the fields and once you are ready just click "Finish"

In order to fill the report users should go to "Reports" on the top navigation and select "Create"
